OUR Story
|
- Every revolution has a beginning; a point of origin;
the proverbial seed to be sown. Our story begins in
the Pacific Northwest during the spring of 2006. While
cruising around the greater Seattle area, our founders
wanted to enjoy a beautiful sunset with a bottle of
wine. They landed in a great little spot just north
of Ballard.

While taking in the view of the Olympic Mountains
over the water to the west, our founders were
ushered away because their wine was in a bottle.
Being the passive, law abiding group they are,
they walked away scratching their heads.
As the old adage, “Necessity, who is the mother
Invention” leads one to conclude, they had a
need. They began to wonder why wine should not
be enjoyed anywhere. While they do not claim
to be philosophers of
Plato’s influence, our founders do have
a philosophy that guides them.
They believe in the sense of family and community
that enjoying and sharing wine together can
bring - whether at the table or by the camp
fire. It is this belief that drove them to form
WineNik and spread it around for all to share
– regardless of setting. |
